St Helens coach Daniel Anderson said he wanted his players to use the 34-8 Challenge Cup semi-final defeat as inspiration for the rest of the season. The defeat was Anderson's first since taking over in May, but the Australian said his players could still end the season on a high in Super League.
"There's a lot of pain in the dressing room but we've got to wear the pain and learn," Anderson told BBC Sport.
"We'll remember and hopefully redeem ourselves at the end of the year."
Anderson admitted his side had failed to get anywhere near their best form in a disappointing performance at the Galpharm Stadium.
"They were outstanding and we weren't so good," said Anderson.
"We were thoroughly outplayed by a tougher and more committed team.
"We hung in there until half-time and came out in the second half with a fair amount of vigour but they took their opportunities and we ended up playing catch-up, which is full of risky plays."
