We didn't panic and I can't praise the players enough

Huddersfield coach Jon Sharp accused stand-in referee Ronnie Laughton of costing them victory.

Giants' Paul March was denied a try after Laughton, who was drafted in as a last-minute replacement, decided there was a knock-on in the build-up.

"I am absolutely steaming," said Sharp. "It detracts from a superb game.

"I don't know how they managed to change the referee but his integrity has been questioned."
