Gareth Hock bagged a hat-trick as Wigan ran in eight tries in their 48-6 victory over struggling Wakefield. Hock, George Carmont, Josh Charnley, Pat Richards and Sam Tomkins went over as the hosts had a 30-6 half-time lead, Josh Griffin with Wakefied's try. The visitors were blanked in the second half as Tomkins and Hock scored tries within five minutes of each other. Hock completed his treble in the last minute as Wigan extended their lead at the top to three points. POST-MATCH REACTION Wigan coach Michael Maguire: "To have Gaz [Hock] back doing what he's doing and running the way he is, he's a good addition to our team. "He's getting his match fitness back, that's the big thing with Gaz. know what he's capable of and the more I see of him I can understand why he was the player he was before he had that break.. "It's great to have him in the team and he's only going to improve. He's working hard to have the understanding of what we've developed here and he's fitting in really well." Wakefield coach John Kear: "I think it indicates the pleasure or displeasure of the performance that the fans stayed behind and applauded the players. "I thought the players deserved that because Wigan were absolutely clinical, scoring eight tries, and I think Pat Richards would have hit a bullseye from 300 yards the way he was kicking. "Wigan were very good in difficult conditions and my players made some fundamental early tackle errors that Wigan exploited, but their application and effort was really good. "It might sound stupid but defensively we were far superior to what we have been the last month."
