Warrington full-back Brett Hodgson scored 28 points as the Wolves ran in 11 unanswered tries against bottom-of-the-table Crusaders in a crushing win.

Wolves conceded an early Rhys Hanbury try, converted by Clint Schifcofske, before going on the rampage.

Hodgson, Ben Westwood and Ryan Atkins claimed two tries apiece.

Louis Anderson, Chris Bridge, Joel Monaghan, Richie Myler and Rhys Williams also made the score sheet as Hodgson added 20 points with his boot.

Iestyn Harris's side, who are still without a Super League point, had little to offer after Hanbury ran in from dummy half with two minutes gone.

Crusaders defended well in the opening quarter and denied Hodgson and Bridge good chances to score.

But when Hodgson latched onto Michael Monaghan's offload to go over the rout was underway and a second try quickly followed as Warrington's former Man of Steel set up Westwood.

Williams, who began the season on loan at Crusaders, went in next after Atkins put him through in the corner.

Anderson made it 24-6 at half time when he claimed Michael Monaghan's kick and crashed over.

The home side picked up where they left off after the break when Atkins outpaced Schifcofske to Williams' kick down the left touch-line.

Hodgson and Bridge combined to create Westwood's second before Bridge himself touched down after Michael Monaghan broke from the resulting kick-off.

Gareth Thomas spearheaded a rare venture in Warrington's half but it came to nought and the Wolves went back on the attack.

Anderson's pass found Atkins who ran in from distance before tempers between Vince Mellars and Bridge erupted and the pair were sin-binned for fighting.

Warrington then put on a procession as they claimed three more tries in a seven-minute spell towards the end.

Hodgson completed a cutting move his second and Joel Monaghan crossed on the right to add another.

Myler scored the final try with five minutes left and Hodgson completed a forgettable night for the men from Wales with his boot.

Warrington coach Tony Smith:
"We were determined to put out a really solid performance tonight and I thought they did a really good job of it.

"What we did to the Crusaders made it hard for them to attack after we had so much ball.

"We had a bit of sickness in the camp this week, a few boys came down with bouts of flu.

"It was a bit nervy, particularly when we were trying so hard to get back on track.

"It disrupted our preparation but it didn't disrupt our performance, so we're pleased about that."

Crusaders coach Iestyn Harris:
"I have been involved in the game a long time and I have never known a game where a side had 24 sets more than us.

"That is about 30 minutes. If you give Warrington the ball for 30 minutes you expect to defend and to not give points away is an impossibility.

"It is a tough one because I thought our guys had a lot of desire and tried to stick with them but ultimately, if you keep asking Warrington to come at you, it is very tough."
