Clements named Welsh league performance chief

Dan Clements

Dan Clements has been named as Welsh Rugby League's new Head of Performance.

The former Wales A international replaces Anthony Seibold who left to return to Australia in November.

Clements coached Super League franchise Crusaders' Colts youth team and led them to Conference National Grand Final glory - winning coach of the year.

He then coached Crusaders' reserve team and is currently assistant coach of the South Wales Scorpions in rugby league's Championship One division.

Clements will continue his Scorpions role alongside his new Wales Rugby League position.

"Here in Wales we have an extremely large pool of talented players," said Clements.

"And it's very satisfying to see a player progress from all the development programmes that we have running to see them reach their full potential.

"Young Welsh players are naturally gifted and they want to play rugby at the highest level, the programmes we are putting in place gives them a chance to achieve that goal."

Clements is in charge of delivering strategic plans for the development of Welsh rugby league players from under 12 level all the way up to senior international.
