Huddersfield's Luke Robinson faces the prospect of getting married with both arms in slings after being injured in England's game with Papua New Guinea.

The 26-year-old put off his wedding to fiancee Laura until 20 November after his call-up to the Four Nations squad.

He was already booked in for surgery on his right shoulder before he dislocated his left elbow in England's 36-10 win.

"When Laura looks down the aisle and sees my arms in slings, she might change her mind," said the scrum-half.

Robinson had scored two tries in the first half to help England to a 24-0 lead, before suffering the dislocation and suspected fracture early in the second half.

Incredibly, he tried to play on after putting the elbow back into the joint while still on the pitch.

"You don't want to come off when you're playing for your amateur team, never mind when it's your country," he said.

"It was only my third proper game for England and I felt like I was playing all right. Obviously it's last game of the tour and I wanted to end it on a decent note but it's been taken away from me."

He also said the elbow injury was an accident waiting to happen.

"I broke it originally about nine years ago and I never got it fixed," he said.

"I was only a young lad and I had just made the Wigan team so, like an idiot, I didn't tell anyone.

"It sort of healed around it and the guy said one day it will go so you are better off waiting and tonight is the night it's gone.

"I just felt it pop out and I tried getting it back in. I got it back in but it's not gone back in properly and so unfortunately I had to come off.

"The specialist has had a feel around and he says it's either broke or the fibres have gone."
