Oldham Roughyeds have extended the contract of forward Chris Clarke. The 21-year-old came through the club's youth system and made his first-team debut against Leigh last season. He told the club website: "To play for Oldham means a lot to me, and I enjoyed playing at that level. It's a great feeling to be playing for my town. "I'm hoping to have another good year and then I'll see what happens after that. But as long as I'm playing rugby and enjoying it, that suits me fine." Clarke joins Ben Heaton and Scott Mansfield who have come through the youth system to sign new deals ahead of next season. "Having signed on for another year, my personal goal is to be the best I can be," he added. "How good I will be will depend to a large degree on how committed I am and that can only be down to me."
