Hayne missed training with Australia on Monday |
Australia winger Jarryd Hayne has been ruled out of the Four Nations tournament with a hamstring injury. The 22-year-old Parramatta Eels star has a partial tear to the hamstring tendon - which will will keep him out of action for six weeks. "I feel empty at the moment. It was pretty sore over the weekend but I was hoping it would be all right," he said. "It means everything to me to play for my country so, to miss out like this, I am shattered." He added: "I just want to wish the boys well for the tournament and now I just have to focus on my rehab and getting ready for next season." Australia have yet to name a replacement, with the defending champions set to open their title defence against Papua New Guinea on Sunday. They face England on Sunday 31 October.
