Man-of-the-match Lee Briers (centre) celebrates with Wales team-mates
Lee Briers produced a masterful, eight-conversion kicking display to steer Wales to an emphatic win over Scotland.
The Warrington stand-off exploited some sloppy handling to give his side the perfect start to their 2010 European Cup campaign.
Rhys Williams and Elliot Kear both scored three tries each.
Mark Lennon, Lloyd White, Gareth Thomas, Jacob Emmitt and Jordan James also touched down, while Ben Fisher and Andrew Henderson replied with two each.
The score constituted a record home defeat for the Scots.
And the win puts Wales in a strong position ahead of their match next week against Ireland, who lost 58-24 to France in Avignon on Saturday.
The winners of the competition will join England, Australia and New Zealand in the Four Nations next autumn.
Welsh kicking key to loss - McCormack
It took only seven minutes for coach Iestyn Harris' side to find the whitewash with Williams being released wide out and running in unchallenged.
Scotland managed a quick reply with a sniping run by Danny Brough setting up Fisher for the try. Then Wales scored four tries without reply.
Inaccurate kicking by Scotland gave full-back Kear the chance to run in from 60 metres.
He scored another try five minutes later when Briers' swirling high kick was allowed to bounce; Wales pounced and Kear accepted the pass.
Another Briers kick, this time a diagonal, was collected by Lennon wide out on the right, the winger doing well to touch down.
Three minutes later and the Scots had not learnt their lesson; another high kick was allowed to bounce and this time the ball found a grateful White.
Harris pleased with Wales effort
With 25 minutes gone, the Scots found themselves 26-6 down and needed points if they were to prove any real challenge to a clinical Wales.
Brough's kick through in 34 minutes bounced off the post into the arms of Henderson, who crossed.
Then, three minutes later, there was a taste of their own medicine for the Welsh as Brough's high kick found Scottish hands, Henderson collected, broke a couple of tackles and touched down for his second.
So 26-18 at half time, but any thought of a home revival was banished early in the second half when a diagonal kick from Briers was again collected by Williams for his brace.
Former Wales rugby union international Thomas then got on the scoresheet before Scotland skipper Fisher claimed his second, a lateral run easing him through the Welsh cover.
From then on, it was all Wales. Kear and Williams completed their hat-tricks with Emmitt and James adding one apiece.
