Blackpool staged a stirring comeback against Whitehaven to book their place in the fifth round. Haven ran in three first-half tries through Carl Rudd, Dexter Miller and Tom Philip to take an 18-6 lead into half-time. But Martin Ainscough completed a hat-trick of tries while Johnny Leather and Martin Keavney grabbed one apiece as the home team seized the initiative. Two goals from Leather helped them to a 24-18 win. Hunslet converted their first-half dominance into victory against Oldham. The home side led 16-0 at the break and went on to win 42-12. David March, Michael Mark (2), Neil Lowe, Wayne McHugh, Richard Knight and Richard Chapman were the Hawks' try-scorers. Mark Brocklehurst and Paul O'Connor went over for the Roughyeds. Batley proved too strong for Siddal, running out 34-2 winners, with tries from Tommy Gallagher, Alex Brown, Mark Barlow, Gareth Moore, Paul Handforth and Jason Walton.
