Kells centre Scott Lofthouse is hopeful of enjoying success with the British Amateur Rugby League Association Lions' Sevens squad this week in Dubai. But the tournament is a departure for players used to league, as it is based on the 15-man union code. "This is my first experience of union sevens," he said. "There are technical differences but it's all about running with the ball and entertaining. "We have to keep the ball alive, in positions to put points on the board." Cumbrian three-quarter Lofthouse was a key figure in the BARLA tour of the South Pacific this summer, winning the player of the tour award after featuring in Test against Tonga, Samoa and Fiji. And he is keen to repeat those experiences in the sevens games this week, starting on Thursday against the Wooden Spoon Blues. "I had a great tour in the South Pacific in June scoring a hat-trick in the last game so hopefully I can do it again in Dubai and the team can get the rub of the green."
