Wakefield (26) 54 Tries: Brough, Blaymire 2, Murphy 2, Blanch, Obst 2, Sculthorpe, Leo-Latu Goals: Brough 7 Leigh 0
Wakefield scored 10 tries as they eased into the fifth round of the Challenge Cup at the expense of Leigh. The Super League side raced into a 26-0 half-time lead and were far too strong for the Championship part-timers. Matt Blaymire, Aaron Murphy and Sam Obst each touched down twice while Damien Blanch, Danny Sculthorpe and Tevita Leo-Latu also crossed. Danny Brough also scored 18 points for the hosts, scoring one try as well as kicking seven goals from 10 attempts.
Wakefield coach John Kear: "I think it was very efficient, that is the best word for it. "We stuck to the processes and the systems and kept hammering away. Gradually we loosened them up and we finished them pretty well. "The scoreline basically tells you the story of the night. I was really pleased with our professionalism." Leigh coach Neil Kelly: "I can't dispute Wakefield dominated the ruck, got the speed of the play-the-ball they wanted and the cumulative process of that is they dominated the game and the scoreboard. "It was an unstoppable tide. "We have to learn to some harsh lessons and I just don't think we all fully believed when we came here we could compete. Ultimately you pay the price for that."
