Warrington v Hull KR

Paul Johnson scored twice as Warrington secured their first Super League win of the season at the sixth attempt.

New coach Tony Smith decided to leave Lee Briers on the bench, with Martin Gleeson switched to stand-off.

Ben Harrison set them on the way and Michael Monaghan and the much-maligned Matt King also went over.

Rovers, who missed the chance to move within a point of leaders Leeds, claimed consolations through Peter Fox and Makali Aizue.

Warrington coach Tony Smith:
"It's down to hard work on and off the field - and that hard work has been going on for a while.

"But when you have a defeat like the previous week you go and try to rectify things. We did that in a lot of ways.

"We still have areas to work on but I saw commitment to one another and it was very encouraging. Our defence was outstanding."

Hull KR coach Justin Morgan:
"We were poor, very poor. Our discipline was way below the standards we have set for ourselves.

"The error count was high, we gave them a lot of ball and we were never in the game. Our ball control was spasmodic and our game was littered with errors.

"We were disjointed and we weren't structured or free-flowing, but the main thing is we learn from it."
