Huddersfield (28) 46 Tries: Brown 2, Robinson 2, Wild, Mason, B Hodgson, Lunt Goals: B Hodgson 6, Cudjoe
Harlequins (0) 6 Try: Ward Goal: Orr
Scrum-half Luke Robinson scored two of Huddersfield's eight tries as they won at home for the first time since July. Quins started strongly but David Howell was held up on the line and after Stephen Wild pounced on a mistake by Danny Orr, the floodgates opened. Keith Mason and Kevin Brown crossed for easy scores before Robinson capitalised on a wind-assisted kick to power over. Quins' day was summed up when Brown stole the ball from Orr and romped home for a superb solo try under the posts. Danny Ward scored a consolation try nine minutes from the end, but Shaun Lunt had the last word for the Giants with another fine solo effort.
Huddersfield assistant coach Paul Anderson: "We handled the windy conditions and we are pleased with the result but we want the stadium to be a fortress. "We need to be more consistent overall and within the game itself to do that. "There were errors in some of our moves that we're not happy about and we have to cut those out if we are to compete at the top end of Super League." Harlequins coach Brian McDermott: "Some days are diamonds, some days are stones. This result was a huge stone. "Policemen sometimes make wrong arrests and we had 17 players who all had an off day at the same time."
