Vince Karalius was known as the Wild Bull of the Pampas

Widnes Vikings have announced they are to play St Helens before the start of the new season in memory of Vince Karalius who died in December.

The 'Karalius Cup' game will take place on Sunday, 1 February at the Stobart Stadium in Widnes.

Loose forward Karalius played for both Widnes and St Helens and made 384 appearances in total.

Tickets are on sale from Thursday, 8 January from the Stobart Stadium and from the club's website.

The Vikings then open the 2009 season against Barrow in the Northern Rail Cup on Sunday, 8 February.
