McCormack's Scotland will face France and Fiji in Australia |
Scotland coach Steve McCormack says his side are not at the Rugby League World Cup simply to make up the numbers. The Scots upset the odds by qualifying for the tournament in Australia ahead of rivals Wales. "To actually get here is a big achievement but we are not settling for that," said McCormack. "We are not here for a holiday." "Many people didn't think we would get to this competition as Wales were very big, big favourites to qualify." McCormack is preparing his side for their opening fixture against France on Sunday. | We are quietly confident. "It hasn't been hard to gel as a team," added McCormack. "What Scotland does is prides itself on genuine people first. If you get the genuine people, the rest of it comes together. "They can all play good football, they are all good people, they are prepared to work and the work ethic has been tremendous." "We are all ready for a tough game against France. They are a very good side with some outstanding players. "In saying that, we are quietly confident ourselves. If we can perform like we know we can do, then we will shock a few people."
