Workington Town coach Dave Rotheram believes scrum-half Liam Campbell could be available for Sunday's National Two play-off against Keighley.
Campbell was cleared of sexual assault at Carlisle Crown Court on Monday and has trained with the squad, prompting Rotheram to speculate on his return.
"The intention at this stage is that Liam plays," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"It will be the first time, fingers crossed, that Dave Rotheram gets to put Liam Campbell in a Workington team."
Rotheram was also boosted by the return from injury of Bryce Poisel, Chris Young and Shaun Lunt in Tuesday's training session.
With the previous games against Keighley this season yielding plenty of tries, Rotheram is hopeful his forwards will be able to stifle their opponents.
"We've had four fantastic games against them and each game has been over 40 points, apart from the 18-6 at home," he said.
"There's always been an average of a try in the result against us and our boys are determined to put that right, they're confident they can go there and turn them over."
