The result means they will meet again in three weeks' time at The Willows in the second round of the play-offs, both receiving a bye in round one. Crusaders broke the deadlock when Luke Dyer dived in at the left-hand corner. Matt Gardner scored for Salford but the Welsh replied through Damien Quinn, David Tangata-Toa and Tony Duggan.
