Celtic Crusaders prop Geraint Davies says their successful Super League bid will not distract them from their National League One campaign. The Brewery Field side went down 30-22 at Batley Bulldogs on Sunday, six days after learning their bid for a Super League licence for 2009 was successful. "We partied on Tuesday but were back into training on Wednesday," he said. "(Coach) John Dixon told us that we should be looking to make the Grand Final with Salford Reds this year." | 606: DEBATE |
The Crusaders remain third in National League One behind Salford and Halifax, but they have lost their last three games. "We're home against Sheffield next Saturday, so hopefully that will give us a boost," Davies told BBC Sport Wales. "National League One is a very good standard, but Super League will be another big step up, into a full-time playing environment. "Injuries haven't helped us this year, but I'm sure that John (Dixon) will bring in the players we need for next season."
