Salford coach Shaun McRae has expressed his confidence the Reds will be among the 14 clubs handed a Super League licence on Tuesday.

McRae saw his side battle for a 30-30 draw at Featherstone on Sunday which kept them top of National League One ready for the licence decision.

The Australian told BBC Radio Manchester: "I look forward to the announcement with great anticipation.

"I am absolutely confident our name is going to be read out on Tuesday."

He added: "I will be absolutely gobsmacked and distraught if it is not and I think it will be a major catastrophe if that is not the case.

"I have always said we are one of the favourites to get in and nothing that we have done on or off the field since our application has gone in, or before our application went in, has changed my mind."
