Catalans racked up their seventh away win to move within a point of Super League leaders Leeds and St Helens.

Thomas Bosc converted tries from Olivier Elima and Justin Murphy as the Dragons led 12-0 at the interval.

Jamal Fakir trundled over to extend their lead before Garreth Carvell and Shaun Berrigan crashed over for Hull.

Younes Khattabi went over in the corner to extend Dragons' lead; Tom Briscoe responded for Hull before Clint Greenshields clinched victory late on.

It was a deserved win for the French side whose superiority was built upon the sophisticated edge given to their attack by the half-back pairing of Bosc and Adam Mogg.

Bosc produced a wonderfully delayed pass to send Elima over, while Mogg created a stunning overlap that allowed Yeaman to benefit.

Carvell, who had spent the majority of the afternoon being booed by his own fans after announcing earlier in the week that he wished to reverse his decision to sign a new three-year deal with the club, went over from close range and Berrigan's dart from dummy-half gave the Airlie Birds hope.

But after trading tries, Greenshields towered above full-back Matt Sing to take in Bosc's kick and score under the posts.

Hull coach Richard Agar:
"We were quite aimless and erratic in the first half and, at times, we probably looked like what we are and that's a team that's not doing much training together.

"The difference in the game was the smartness of the two teams. They played a simple, early kick chase and we tried to play sideways and off the back foot too much in difficult conditions.

"We need to perform for 80 minutes. We've been saying that message too often though and that's the most frustrating thing about it."

Catalans coach Mick Potter:
"We haven't put ourselves in a bad position this week by grabbing the two points.

"Our for and against isn't as favourable as it is for Leeds and St Helens but it's nice to have the points right now and we'll see where we end up.

"I was happy to come to Hull and get two points as they tested us out across the park, and I don't know if it was a culmination of the French players having three games in the space of nine days or two away games in a week but we looked tired."
