Super League hopefuls Celtic Crusaders went level at the top of the National League One table as they crushed Widnes 38-6 at Bridgend. The hosts stormed ahead in torrential rain with first-half tries from Anthony Blackwood (2) and Mark Dalle Cort. Jim Gannon struck back after the break, but Tony Duggan, Neil Budworth and Ben Flower sealed a victory in which Mark Lennon's goal-kicking was outstanding. Lennon succeeded with seven goals from 10 attempts in the dreadful conditions.
