By Elizabeth Hudson

2017:And so another Millennium Magic weekend comes to a close with St Helens claiming a comfortable victory and with a crowd of 32,516 watching, the Rugby Football League will be happy. Don't forget you can see all the action on the Super League Show. Thanks for all your texts and comments over the weekend.

2013: "The boys started really well today and laid the platform for the win. We talked about not letting the occasion getting to us but I thought the boys were superb."
St Helens Sean Long

2010:FULL-TIME ST HELENS 57-16 WIGAN

2006: Perhaps one for Wigan fans to miss but if you want to watch all of the action from Millennium Magic, you can see it all on the Super League Show.

In the north of England it will be on at 1130 BST on Monday 5 May on BBC One with the national repeat on Tuesday 6 May at 0100 BST on BBC Two.

2004: "Wigan have looked more willing in the second half than they were at the start of the game, which is the wrong way around."
The Independent's Dave Hadfield on Five Live Sports Extra.

2002:TRY ST HELENS 57-16 WIGAN
St Helens are not finished yet. Some superb handling by James Graham, Jon Wilkin, Paul Wellens gives Lee Gilmour the chance to go over for his side's 10th try of the game. With Long off, Matt Gidley takes the kick and adds the extras.

1958:TRY ST HELENS 51-16 WIGAN
Thomas Leuluai, Iafeta Paleaaesina and Micky Higham combine for Higham to go over as Saints take their foot off the gas. Pat Richards gets his second goal.

1951:TRY ST HELENS 51-10 WIGAN
It's a brief flash of quality from Wigan. Trent Barrett (yes he is still on the field) sends a pass out to Harrison Hansen to go over. Pat Richards adds the extras. Brian Noble remains impassive.

1949: Both Sean Long and Leon Pryce are replaced, further indication of how dominant Saints have been. I saw Wigan beating Leeds a couple of weeks ago. It's hard to believe this is the same team tonight.

1947:TRY ST HELENS 51-4 WIGAN
Ade Gardner goes over for a try as the rout continues but frustration gets the better of Thomas Leuluai who trips him up as he grounds the ball. He gets a warning from Phil Bentham. Sean Long adds the extras.

1942: "I saw Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan earlier this afternoon. He had a big smile on his face and was happy to give the Warriors fans a wave when they sang his name. Wonder what his face looks like now?"
BBC Sport's Phil Gordos in Cardiff.

1939:TRY ST HELENS 45-4 WIGAN
Saints are scoring tries for fun again. The scrum from Fielden's knock-on is spread out wide to Paul Wellens who bamboozles the Wigan defence and passes to Talau for another score. Sean Long misses the conversion. The Wigan fans are starting to leave the ground.

1938: Another unhappy night for Stuart Fielden as he knocks on. Richie Mathers slams the ball into the ground in frustration.

1935:TRY ST HELENS 41-4 WIGAN
But it's not long before another gap appears in the Wigan defence as Sean Long completes his hat-trick - his fourth for St Helens. The ball goes wide to Gidley and then back in to Long who torments them once again and then again with the extras.

1930:TRY ST HELENS 35-4 WIGAN
The fightback starts early in the half as Thomas Leuluai goes over. It took a knock-on by Paul Wellens to give possession back to the Warriors and the New Zealander makes sure it will not be 'Wigan nil'. Pat Richards misses the extras.

1928: Second half starts. Will there be more misery for Wigan?

1924: "Here's the news you wanted most: Ronnie the Rhino has won the Mascot Games. Who says so?" Keith Chegwin. Brilliant!"
BBC Sport's Phil Gordos in Cardiff

1915: "This is so one-sided Saints might soon become the first rugby team to declare during a match. Evidently the Wigan fans agree - we just heard chants of 'you're not fit to wear the shirt' and I'm not sure they had a specific target."
BBC Sport's Julian Shea in Cardiff

1914: Back in June 2005, St Helens beat Wigan 75-0 in the Challenge Cup. The way things are going, we could have a repeat of that if Wigan don't start playing - and fast.

1912:HALF-TIME ST HELENS 35-0 WIGAN

1911: "Castleford were poor against Wakefield on Saturday but at least they put up a better show than this. The Wigan players are just pathetic tonight."
BBC Sport's Dave Woods on Five Live Sports Extra

1909:DROP-GOAL ST HELENS 35-0 WIGAN
Sean Long rubs more salt into the Wigan wounds with a cheeky drop-goal. With Saints well in control, maybe it's not good sportsmanship but Long probably doesn't care about that.

1907: Pat Richards's kick-off goes straight out of play, gifting possession back to Saints.

1904:TRY ST HELENS 34-0 WIGAN
And yet again the Wigan defence are embarrassed. It was all set up by Leon Pryce with Sean Long racing 70 metres to go over. He safely adds the extras.

1902:TRY ST HELENS 28-0 WIGAN
This is getting embarrassing for Wigan and coach Brian Noble as St Helens go over again. The ball goes from Sean Long to Lee Gilmour who finds a gap and gets it out to Willie Talau who gets over in the corner and Long adds the extras.

1859:TRY ST HELENS 22-0 WIGAN
Matt Gidley does superbly well to swivel out of a tackle and kicks through for Ade Gardner for try number four. The Saints fans are celebrating and Long kicks from the touchline but misses.

1858: Oh dear, Trent Barrett knocks on. The Wigan fans are unhappy and Saints try to get another score with James Roby now on the field.

1855: On Good Friday, St Helens ran out 46-10 winners over Wigan at Knowsley Road. The way Wigan are playing (poorly) and Saints are playing (very well), it could be a bigger rout this time.

1852:TRY ST HELENS 18-0 WIGAN
When things are going wrong, they really go wrong. An offload from Wigan's Sean O'Loughlin is taken by Francis Meli, who looked like he came from an offside position. Wigan stop playing, waiting for the whistle as Meli darts away for a 70-metre try and after the video referee has a good look, the try is given. Long is on target with the extras.

1847: The roof of the Millennium Stadium gets opened slightly to allow the pall of smoke to escape.

1846:TRY ST HELENS 12-0 WIGAN
Jason Cayless sets up Jon Wilkin, who breaks through and looks for support. There is none forthcoming but he decides to go himself and skips past a half-hearted tackle from Richard Mathers to go over. It is the BBC columnist's first try of the season so well done to him. Long adds the extras.

1842: "Because the roof is shut, we now have a pall of smoke trapped inside above the pitch - it's like watching rugby in a steamy jungle somewhere, or at very high altitude." BBC Sport's Julian Shea in Cardiff

1841: A poor kick by Trent Barrett is easily gobbled up by Ade Gardner. Wigan look short on confidence.

1839: "I think Saints could win by a hatful. Wigan do not look like a side who are happy with themselves at all and there was a lot of pointing and words behind the sticks as Long kicked over the extras." BBC Sport's Dave Woods on Five Live Sports Extra

1836:TRY ST HELENS 6-0 WIGAN
Wigan are made pay for Carmont's indiscretion. Their defence stand still and allow Sean Long to skip his way through for his third try of the season. The now dreadlock-less Long adds the extras

1835: George Carmont concedes a silly penalty on the fifth tackle giving St helens some decent field possession. Saints are throwing the ball around.

1834: A knock-on by Stuart Fielden after Micky Higham's pass. Higham is not impressed and gives his team-mate a steely glare.

1832: "If this is half as good as the two earlier games, we are in for a cracker."
The Independent's Dave Hadfield on Five Live Sports Extra

1830: Kick off by Wigan's Pat Richards

1829: Trent Barrett returns to the Wigan starting line-up and there is a place for Paul Precott in place of Phil Bailey.

For St Helens, Paul Wellens returns as does Leon Pryce but Paul Sculthorpe and Maurie Fa'asavalu miss out.

1824: Here are your teams:

St Helens: Wellens, Gardner, Gidley, Talau, Meli, Pryce, Long, Cayless, Cunningham, Graham, Gilmour, Flannery, Wilkin. Replacements: Roby, Bennett, Hargreaves, Clough.

Wigan: Mathers, Colbon, Goulding, Carmont, Richards, Barrett, Leuluai, Fielden, Higham, Prescott, Hansen, Coley, O'Loughlin. Replacements: Coyle, Paleaaesina, J. Tomkins, O'Carroll.

Referee: P Bentham (Warrington)

1821: Time to draw breath after the excitement of the first two games and gear up for St Helens v Wigan.

1817:FULL-TIME Hull 17-22 Hull KR
It's a second win of the season and a third consecutive for Hull KR over their cross-city rivals. Despite a heroic defensive display by Hull, Justin Morgan's side are celebrating a famous success.

1814: A dramatic interception by Jamie Thackray gives Hull another late chance. Hull work their way down the middle and then out wide but Adam Dykes's kick is safely grabbed by Chev Walker.

1810:TRY Hull 17-22 Hull KR
A barn-storming run from Clint Newton gives Hull KR the initiative although the Hull defence does its job again. Mick Vella almost gets over but the ball is spread out wide to Jake Webster from Ben Galea and the Hull KR fans are bob-bob-bobbing along. Paul Cooke finds the target with the kick.

1807:DROP GOAL Hull 17-16 Hull KR
It's high drama as Adam Dykes keeps his cool to kick over a drop goal and give the Airlie Birds the narrowest of advantages. Their fans are celebrating but there is still just under seven minutes to go.

1805: "There are plenty of missed tackles and a fair few missed tackles in this game - the coaches will probably be pulling their hair out, but it makes for hugely entertaining viewing in what is by far the liveliest game of the weekend so far."
BBC Sport's Julian Shea in Cardiff.

1804: We are into the final 10 minutes and it's drop-goal territory. Paul Cooke tries his luck but sends it left of the posts.

1801: Harlequins coach Brian McDermott's post-match press conference after his side's defeat to Catalans seemed to question the commitment and desire of his players. You can read the full transcript on 606.

1757: Gareth Raynor touches down for the third time - unfortunately for the Great Britain winger, centre Craig Hall had knocked on earlier in the move, so the cheers from the travelling Hull fans are suddenly subdued when a scrum is signalled.

1753: Winger Matt Sing dances out of his in-goal area as another Hull KR grubber attempts to unlock the Hull defence.

1750: Hull KR are pounding the Airlie Birds tryline, but a cheeky little grubber from Paul Cooke is overcooked (pun intended) and the Black and Whites finally clear their lines, albeit briefly.

1747: Some desperate defending by the Airlie Birds as they defend four consecutive sets.

1744: Hull KR are putting pressure on the Hull FC line. Todd Byrne stops Scott Murrell and then Ben Fisher is also halted short of the line. It's nervewracking stuff.

1740:TRY Hull 16-16 Hull KR
And Hull KR are right back in it almost straight away. Great work by Ben Galea and lovely handling by Paul Cooke whose pass out the back finds Chev Walker who goes over for his fourth try of the season. Cooke is again on target for the extras.

1738:TRY Hull 16-10 Hull KR
Berrigan shrugs off the attentions of a couple of players from dummy-half and the impressive Danny Washbrook waltzes through the Hull KR defence to score a try for a second week in a row. Danny Tickle sends a left-footed kick over to extend the advantage.

1735: Worries for Hull with both Adam Dykes and Shaun Berrigan hobbling. Both are still on the field at the moment though.

1732: The second half kicks off with first possession to Hull KR.

1728: "Quins coach Brian McDermott was in a very strange mood at the post-match press conference. Clearly very angry and hurt, his answers were short and, at times, mystifying. He seemed to be questioning whether the whole rugby league in London thing was worth it. Probably just very upset at seeing his side chuck away victory for the second week running."
BBC Sport's Phil Gordos in Cardiff

1725: "A very competitive and entertaining first half, with both teams applauded off by the whole crowd at the break. Hull scuttled straight down the tunnel, but Paul Cooke held Rovers back for a brief chat on the pitch before they left together."
BBC Sport's Julian Shea in Cardiff

1718: Don't forget you can relive all of the weekend's action in the Super League Show.

In the north of England it will be on at 1130 BST on Monday 5 May on BBC ONE. The show will be repeated nationally on BBC TWO on Tuesday 6 May at 0100 BST.

1714:HALF-TIME Hull 10-10 Hull KR

1712: It's a welcome return for Whiting, who is playing his first game of the season after breaking his arm in pre-season.

1709: Richard Whiting's kick through should have been dealt with by Peter Fox but Gareth Raynor gets there first and grounds the ball. The video referee looks at all of the angles and then gives the green light. That's a century of Hull tries for Raynor. Danny Tickle gets his first success of the afternoon to level the match.

1707: Hull are just trying to re-establish a toehold in the game. They are a bit battered and bruised at the moment."
BBC Sport's Dave Woods on Five Live Sports Extra

1704:TRY Hull 4-10 Hull KR
Danny Tickle tries an offload but three of his teammates are not fully in tune with his thoughts and possession goes straight back to Hull KR. Ben Cockayne seizes on the ball and a sweeping move involving Jake Webster, Ben Galea and 86-year-old Stanley Gene finds Daniel Fitzhenry who goes over for his eighth try of the season. Cooke misses the extras.

1701: "The whole momentum of this game has changed completely. Ben Fisher has made a big difference to Hull KR."
BBC Sport's Stuart Pyke on Five Live Sports Extra

1700: A 40-20 by Scott Murrell puts even more pressure on Hull but Chev Walker's handling lets him down again from the scrum and they give up promising possession cheaply.

1657:TRY Hull 4-6 Hull KR
A second set of six in a row from Hull KR and this is their best spell of play. Shaun Briscoe tries to get through before a Paul Cooke pass goes via Chev Walker to Peter Fox for his fifth try of the season. Paul Cooke completes his job with the extra two points from by the touchline.

1652: Chev Walker from Paul Cooke's pass is stopped just short of the line in Hull KR's first meaningful attack and to make matters worse, the former Leeds player then knocks on in the next play.

1648: A penalty for Hull, their fourth of the game. Danny Tickle opts to kick but he sends a relatively simple-looking left-footed kick wide. Who knows how costly that could be?

1646: "Nothing is going right for Rovers at the moment."
BBC Sport's Stuart Pyke on Five Live Sports Extra

1645: Rovers haven't been in the game so far and a mistake by Chev Walker does not help their cause as possession goes back to the KC Stadium side.

1643: "The first half began with the air full of smoke and the smell of gunpower drom the pre-match fireworks. Raynor's try was a suitably explosive start to the match. Fantastic approach work by Craig Hall but Peter Fox was so unlucky not to deny him with that tackle."
BBC Sport's Julian Shea in Cardiff

1640: Hull are looking threatening again but Berrigan slips and Stanley Gene (any idea how old he is???) dives on the ball.

1635: Raynor's try is timed at 48 seconds. What a whirlwind start!

1631:TRY Hull 4-0 Hull KR
Gareth Raynor goes over after some great play by Craig Hall and despite a flailing tackle by Peter Fox. The video referee Ian Smith is called into play and the try is given. It's a great finish by Raynor - the 99th of his Hull career but Danny Tickle misses the extras.

1630: Paul Cooke kicks things off for Hull KR.

1628: Chev Walker is back for Hull KR but they may have a problem at half-back. James Webster is out injured and new signing Michael Dobson will not be arriving until next week. Scott Murrell comes in at scrum-half.

1627: "I don't know how many fans they've brought but there seemed to be more Hull KR shirts outside the ground than any other team, and they've now come in and taken up a large and very noisy section of the seating. Hull FC could well find themselves outshouted this afternoon."
BBC Sport's Julian Shea in Cardiff.

1625: Here are your Hull and Hull KR teams:

Hull: Byrne, Sing, Yeaman, Hall, Raynor, Washbrook, Dykes, Dowes, Berrigan, Cusack, Manu, Tickle, Radford.
Replacements: Lee, Whiting, Thackray, Wheeldon.

Hull K R: Briscoe, Fox, Walker, J. Webster, Fitzhenry, Cooke, Murrell, Vella, K. Netherton, Mills, Newton, Gene, Galea.
Replacements: Crossman, Fisher, Cockayne, Chester.

Referee: S Ganson (Great Britain)

1617: Phew, after that, how much more excitement can you cope with? The Hull derby is rarely short on drama and then there is St Helens v Wigan coming up at 1830.

1615: "It's 1am on a cold-ish Sydney morning. I have a couple of bacon and egg sandwiches, a six-pack of Tooheys (other beers are available), and my family are about to be rudely awaken by me shouting nonsensically at the referee via the laptop! COME ON YOU 'ULL!!
airliebirddownunder on 606

1612: "Game of the weekend for me, so far. Full marks to both sides for their willingness to attack. The second half may not have quite lived up to the first, but there was some cracking entertainment on show. The perfect start to Sunday's fare."
BBC Sport's Phil Gordos in Cardiff

1608:FULL TIME Catalans Dragons 18-16 Harlequins
Somehow Harlequins have conspired to lose a game that they should have won, thanks to those late tries from Touxagas and Murphy. Coach Brian McDermott will not be a happy man.

1606:TRY Catalans Dragons 18-16 Harlequins
Heartbreak for Harlequins as the Dragons take the lead in the dying moments. Some good work by Sebastian Raguin and Thomas Bosc's delightful kick over the top is eagerly seized on by Justin Murphy who scores the try after a check by the video referee. Bosc adds the extra and there is about 90 seconds to go.

1601: "Just what the game needed, as it had fallen into a bit of a rut - a superb dash by Julien Touxagas to score after Orr fumbled in a superb threatening position for Quins. Try of the weekend so far." BBC Sport's Julian Shea in Cardiff

1558:TRY Catalans Dragons 12-16 Harlequins
With eight minutes to go, Julian Touxagas snaps up a loose Harlequins pass to Danny Orr and races about 90m to score a dramatic try. Thomas Bosc adds the extras and it is going to be a grandstand finish. Can the French side snatch it or will Harlequins hold on?

1553: The Dragons are struggling to complete their sets and when they lose possession, Julien Rinaldi tries to break through for Quins. But he is tackled when in a promising possession and there is no joy for the London-based Frenchman.

1547: Harlequins are coping with everything the Dragons are throwing at them as we go into the final 20 minutes.

1538: "Really hope there's more tries in these two days than in the whole of the Six Nations, just to show what a superior sport this is."
bwfc111 on 606

1535: TRY Catalans Dragons 6-16 Harlequins
All of a sudden Harlequins turn defence into attack. Jon Wells's half-break is supported by Scott Hill who feeds Chris Melling to go over under the posts for a well-worked try with Purdham easily converting.

1534: The Quins defence is starting to frustrate the Dragons as they are thwarted close to the line.

1530: I was at Millennium Magic last year and really enjoyed it. The Hull v Hull KR match had an amazing atmosphere with Paul Cooke guiding KR to victory over his former side. Can he do the same this year? There isn't too long to wait and find out.

1525: After the half-time break and a breather, we are back in business. The first 40 minutes have been the tightest of the weekend so far.

1513:HALF-TIME Catalans Dragons 6-10 Harlequins
Harlequins are awarded a late penalty just seconds before the half-time hooter. But Rob Purdham misses. The ball does not go dead and Adam Mogg tries to rush upfield but is stopped by David Howell.

1510: A late charge by Harlequins as they chase a kick-through by Tony Clubb but Gareth Haggerty cannot make anything of it.

1507: A mistake by Gareth Haggarty gives possession back to the Dragons but Dimitri Pelo is tackled superbly just short of the line by Matt Gafa.

1503: It's all Dragons at the moment but the Quins defence is holding firm as half-time approaches.

1455: The top tier of the end which the Dragons are attacking must have about 8,000 seats in it. There is one person sitting in it.
BBC Sport's Julian Shea in Cardiff

1453:TRY Catalans Dragons 6-10 Harlequins
Scott Hill is a key figure for the Quins and back in the team after injury, he goes over on the right hand side to give his side the lead. It is all set up by Chad Randall but Rob Purdham does not add the extras.

1447: I know it's a bit hard to imagine Catalans v Harlequins as a local derby but there is no doubting the rivalry between the sides in the next two games - Hull and Hull KR and St Helens and Wigan. What do you think?

1445: "Quins are throwing the ball around as though it's 79 minutes on the clock and they need a try to win. It's great to watch."
BBC Sport's Phil Gordos in Cardiff

1440:TRY Catalans Dragons 6-6 Harlequins
We are back level in Cardiff after Michael Worrincy takes a lovely pass from Scott Hill and crashes over. Worrincy is one of a crop of talented Londoners who are making their way into the Quins side. Rob Purdham's kick makes the scores level.

1437:TRY Catalans Dragons 6-0 Harlequins
Jason Croker gives the Dragons an early lead after Ashley Klein penalises Harlequins for not playing the ball correctly. Croker is the oldest player in the Super League and he was not going to be stopped as he barges over. Thomas Bosc adds the extras.

1430: Off we go for game four. Will it be a classic or a damp squib?

1427: "Not quite as big a crowd for the start of play as yesterday, but I suppose a lot of Hull and Hull KR fans are in the local pubs watching to see if Hull City can get promoted to the Premier League. Best fancy dress outfits of the day so far have been a couple of people dressed as Daffyd from Little Britain, complete with make-up."
BBC Sport's Julian Shea in Cardiff

1422: Here are the team's for Sunday's opener:

Catalans Dragons: Greenshields, Murphy, Mogg, Raguin, Pelo, Bosc, McGuire, Chan, Gorrell, Guisset, Carlaw, Croker, Mounis. Replacements: Ferriol, A. Bentley, Fakir, Touxagas.

Harlequins RL: Wells, Clubb, Gafa, Howell, Sheriffe, Hill, Orr, Temata, Randall, Ward, Worrincy, Purdham, Paul. Replacements: Rinaldi, Melling, Haggerty, Mbu.

Referee: A Klein (London)

1420: To catch up on Saturday's, and indeed Sunday's action, the Super League Show, will be shown in the north of England on at 1130 BST on Monday 5 May with a national repeat on Tuesday 6 May at 0100 BST.

1413: Here we are, day two of Millennium Magic. After Saturday's 35-try extravaganza, let's hope there is more of the same today.

The action kicks off at 1430 with in-form Catalans Dragons against Harlequins. The Dragons have looked impressive in recent weeks and will be hoping to claim another victory.

But that is the mere starter ahead of the Hull derby and Wigan v St Helens.

Yet again BBC journalists Phil Gordos and Julian Shea are in Cardiff for us and they will provide us with some prime snippets of information and gossip from behind the scenes.
