Wigan were the highest scoring of the eight Super League sides in Challenge Cup action on Sunday, running in 14 tries to beat SM Pia XIII 74-4. Mark Calderwood and Liam Colbon led the way with a hat-trick each against the part-time French team. Holders St Helens fielded a weakened side but still outclassed London Skolars of National League Two 56-0. And Wakefield ran in seven tries to beat National League One leaders Salford 38-8 at the the Willows. Hull KR were also in the points, with 68 in a 12-try demolition of Workington. Last year's finalists Catalans shrugged off the speculation over coach Mick Potter's possible move to Saints to beat Featherstone 22-12. Rochdale's Chris Forster stunned Hull FC with a try in the eighth minute but the Super Leaguers then ran in eight tries. Warrington had a few nervous moments as Leigh cut a 16-point half-time deficit to 10 before the Wolves upped their game for a 28-16 verdict. And Huddersfield took the derby honours against neighbours Halifax, opening up a 16-point lead before a gutsy fight back from the National League One side.
