Salford Reds coach Shaun McRae has reminded his players of the opportunity afforded by the Challenge Cup.

Salford Reds entertain Super League Wakefield on 20 April in the fourth round of the competition which their coach won with St Helens 12 years ago.

"It's an opportunity for some teams to express themselves because it is a one-off," he told BBC Radio Manchester.

"The idea of a knock-out competition suits some clubs while it doesn't suit others," he said.

"It also probably suits some coaches and does not suit others.

"You're being measured on an 80 minute performance, not what you did last week or the week before as you are in the league matches.

"So in one sense, it's here we go, this is our Grand Final. It's just about winning against Wakefield."
