Whitehaven coach Paul Crarey was left fuming with his side after an abject first-half display resigned his side to a 19-6 defeat against Batley on Monday. "I thought we were absolutely shocking, no passion or emotion, the worst I've seen from a side I've had anything to do with," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"We talked before the game about commitment and if you're not prepared to have a go then you're in trouble.
"On a personal level I'm gutted and I take full responsibility."
Haven rallied in the second half but two defeats in two has forced Crarey to look closely at his team selection.
"I had to give them a chance to play, and it probably proved me wrong and it probably was the wrong decision," he said.
"There weren't a lot of players we could put back in but it proved we could defend in the second half and we only conceded the one point."
