York City Knights stand-off Danny Ratcliffe has won the latest Northern Rail Cup Player of the Round' award. He scored and converted the try that earned the Knights an 18-18 draw against Batley in the final moments of Sunday's game.
The 21-year-old will be presented with his trophy before one of the Knights' forthcoming home games.
Knights assistant coach James Ratcliffe said Danny, his nephew, has great potential as a player.

Ratcliffe Snr added: "At York, we're looking to build a strong team around a group of good young players and Danny is one of those.
"He certainly came up trumps in the second half on Sunday and produced a great piece of play.
"I had a lot to do with him when I coached at Thornhill Trojans. And, in some ways, it is harder for Danny to prove to other guys that he deserves his place in the side. But he certainly does and I am delighted he's won this award."
Ratcliffe Snr now hopes that the National League Two season will bring better results than York enjoyed in the Northern Rail Cup.
As a club we were really disappointed not to have qualified for the latter stages of the Northern Rail Cup," he said. "But we're looking ahead now to the league season and are aiming to start with two wins over Easter."
