Barrow gave National League One side Leigh Centurions a scare during their 38-20 defeat in the Northern Rail Cup on Sunday. The League Two side were eventually overpowered but showed plenty of positives as Leigh struggled to cope with some strong attacking rugby.
Left-wing James Nixon ran in two tries for Barrow while Jamie Marshall and Kevin Ellis grabbed a try apiece.
Barrow host Blackpool in the Northern Rail Cup next Sunday.
