Hull KR: (12) 25
Tries: Fisher 2, Vella, Chester
Goals: Cooke 4
Drop: Cooke
Huddersfield: (14) 24
Tries: Reilly 2, Nero, Jensen 2
Goals: Thorman 2
Paul Cooke's late drop goal ensured Hull KR's first Super League season ended on a winning note. A quickfire second-half double from Rod Jensen looked to have won it for Huddersfield, who secured their play-off place last week.
But Ben Fisher replied with two rapid tries of his own to level the game before Cooke's late intervention.
Huddersfield struggled with their kicking with Chris Thorman converting just two of their five tries.
Hull KR coach Justin Morgan "We could have easily been expected to turn up and go through the motions. On paper we didn't have a lot to play for.
"But there are a lot here who aren't going to be here next year and they didn't want to go through the motions.
"Up to 10 or so are going to have to find work elsewhere but when they reflect on this season in 10 years' time - it is an achievement they should be proud of."
Huddersfield coach Jon Sharp "We thoroughly intend to enjoy the next couple of weeks and being in the play-offs for the first time. I know we will need to be better than we were tonight and we will.
"I didn't feel we were on the money like we have been for the last three weeks. We didn't have the same attention to detail but we will put that right.
"A tough game like this will stand us in good stead for next week."
