Celtic Crusaders inflicted Blackpool Panthers' 30th consecutive defeat after cruising to victory at Woodlands Memorial Ground on Sunday.

Crusaders move up to second place in Co-operative National League Two above Barrow Raiders, who lost to leaders Featherstone Rovers on Saturday.

Blackpool took a shock lead on five minutes when Carl Jones crossed.

But the visitors hit back with nine converted tries, with Tony Duggan grabbing a hat-trick.

Richard Johnston and Paul Ballard scored two apiece, Grant Epton and Damien Quinn also crossing.

Crusaders can close the gap on Featherstone on Thursday when the two sides meet at the Chris Moyles Stadium.

Crusaders coach John Dixon said: "I was happy with the scoreline.

"I think we could have been better in certain areas but in the end we've travelled away and got a good score that favoured us and that's nice to be happy about."
