A late drop-goal from Richard Horne rescued a point for Hull FC against Huddersfield at the KC Stadium. Chris Thorman notched a one-pointer to put Huddersfield 9-8 ahead with five minutes left, but Horne ensured his side got something out of the game.
Huddersfield took the lead through Thorman on 15 minutes, and the Giants held on for a 6-0 half-time lead.
Danny Tickle hit back for Hull, and he and Thorman exchanged penalties before the late drop-goal drama.
Hull dominated possession and territory for much of the match, but excellent defensive work from the Giants meant the home side finished the first half without a point.
Huddersfield scored from their first attack of note, with Thorman benefiting from excellent work by Kevin Brown and Ryan Hudson.

It took until the 47th minute for Hull to get on the scoreboard when Danny Washbrook gave a simple run-in to Tickle.
Tickle and Thorman both kicked penalties, to keep the scores level and the late drop-goals ensured honours were even.
But there was a moment of controversy on the stroke of half-time, with Hull's Sid Domic appearing to collect the ball in an offside position after a knock-on by Motu Tony.
Referee Ian Smith did not award the penalty and Hull cleared to take a point from the match.
Hull FC coach Peter Sharp:
"I'm really pleased with the commitment and effort. "We lacked a bit of finesse and subtlety at times but the commitment was outstanding. It was a very tough defensive game from both sides.
"I thought we'd put ourselves in a winning position at 8-6, and we had opportunities to put them away."
Huddersfield coach Jon Sharp on the refereeing controversy:
"I feel as though an injustice has occurred. "I'm referring particularly to the last play. It should have been a penalty in front of the posts. It's ironic that the Hull coaching staff think the same as well.
"I'm very angry and very disappointed and so are my players. I haven't had a chance to speak to the referee, I think it's better for me not to and give myself about three years to calm down.
"Overall I'm really encouraged. It's always a tough place to come and the Hull boys were obviously fired up and we needed to be at our best. We were very good.
"It's the first time a Huddersfield team has come here and won a point, which we're really proud of."
