Bradford were close to being the latest big scalp to fall at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium but came out with a gutsy win.

Catalans had a Casey McGuire try ruled out by the video referee while 24-20 down with just two minutes to go, having dominated the second half.

Cyril Gossard crossed after two minutes for the hosts and they went on to score twice in four minutes in fierce wind.

But Deacon finished off Joe Vagana's run and Leslie Vainikolo scored his 148th try in his 149th Bulls game.

"They were tremendously tough conditions, really, really dreadful.

"With the wind at our back we conceded three tries and I thought it was going to come back and bite us on the backside.

"But we showed tremendous spirit and a lot of smartness in the second half to come away with a win."

"We should have had an advantage, we could have had six points.

"There are some decisions that get made and some get overlooked.

"One team can stand where they want and I'm not sure everyone is getting the help they need to make decisions.

"I thought we did enough to win the game."
