Last year's runners-up Huddersfield eased into the last eight of the Cup with an eighth successive victory as they beat Salford in the mud. Salford, boosted by the return of inspirational captain Malcolm Alker, were in contention for an hour before the Giants ran away with the match.
Kevin Brown was Huddersfield's star with two first-half tries while Robbie Paul's solo effort secured victory.
The Reds suffered a further blow when Gareth Haggerty was stretchered off.
It was desperate news for Salford, who are struggling at the foot of the Super League, and who already have a host of players out with injury.

Against the run of play, the Reds scored the game's first try after 24 minutes when half-back Luke Dorn held his footing on the slippery surface and jinked through the Huddersfield defence for a solo try.
But Brown dummied over four minutes later for Huddersfield and then incepted Dorn's floated pass and raced 40 metres to the line for his second.
Conditions worsened after the interval and the Giants' towering forwards helped tighten the visitors' stranglehold on the game.
It was no surprise when they extended their lead, loose forward Stephen Wild crossing wide out after 53 minutes.
Huddersfield made sure of the win when Paul forced his way over from dummy half and further tries from centres Jamahl Lolesi and Chris Nero in the final quarter merely illustrated their superiority.
