Celtic Crusaders eased through to the Northern Rail Cup quarter-finals with a comfortable victory at Hunslet Hawks. Coach John Dixon was able to rest several of his first choices and sit back as Crusaders ran in five tries.
Richard Johnston opened the scoring after eight minutes, with Jamie I'Anson, Anthony Blackwood and a Tony Duggan brace completing the scoring.
"We fielded five lads from our academy to give them the experience," said operations manager Gerald McCarthy.
"They came through with flying colours. They'll all be pushing for a place in the side for the Swinton match in Bridgend next Saturday."
In the quarter-finals Crusaders will travel to face National League One side Halifax, who beat Crusaders? NL2 promotion rivals Featherstone Rovers 76-16.
The match will be played on the weekend of 26/27 May.
