St Helens scrum-half Sean Long has ended his career with Great Britain to concentrate on his club football. The 30-year-old controversially quit the 2006 Tri-Nations Series for personal reasons on the eve of the Lions' final group game in Brisbane.
He is out of contract at the end of the season and is hoping to sign a new deal with the Knowsley Road club.
"I've made my mind up and just want to do my best for St Helens now. I've got to listen to my body," he said.
After his return from Australia, Long ruled out touring with Great Britain again and there were question marks about whether he would play at international level again.
Britain play their first match under new coach Tony Smith against France in June before meeting New Zealand in the autumn.
"If I can have a couple of full pre-seasons from now on, then I might get another season or two out of myself at the end of my career," he told Rugby League World magazine.
"There are too many games in a year for someone to keep playing internationals and expect to be right for the following Super League season."
