Saints duo to learn fate
Sean Long and Martin Gleeson celebrate St Helens' 2002 Super League title
Long and Gleeson have continued to play since the allegations surfaced
Sean Long and Martin Gleeson will face a hearing on Thursday to consider allegations of illegal betting.

The St Helens duo have been accused of betting on their side to lose against Bradford on Easter Monday, which is in breach of rugby league rules.

Saints were beaten 54-8 by the Bulls after controversially fielding a side missing 11 regulars.

The Rugby Football League have unlimited powers to punish the players should they be found guilty.

RFL laws state: "No club official, referee, touch judge, licensed agent or player shall bet on any rugby league match in which he or his club are participating."

Both players have continued to play since the allegations surfaced, with Long winning the Lance Todd Trophy in the Challenge Cup final against Wigan.
