Fittler will retire at the top of his profession |
Ex-Australia Test captain and Sydney Roosters centre Brad Fittler is to retire at the end of the season. The 32-year-old, who will stay with Sydney, said he wanted to end his career by guiding the Roosters to a second National Rugby League title.
"Brad will go down as one of the greatest players ever," said Sydney coach Ricky Stuart.
Fittler has won every trophy in the game, including three World Cups with the Kangaroos, two as captain.
He has played 34 Tests and more than 300 club games.
Fittler made his NRL debut for Penrith in 1989 and won a title with them before moving to Sydney in 1995.
