Hull KR chief executive Nick Halifihi will step down at the end of the season after refusing to take a pay cut. The announcement comes less than a week before Rovers play Doncaster in the first weekend of the play-offs.
"We are disappointed the news of Nick's departure has leaked out," chairman Neil Hudgell told the Hull Daily Mail.
Halifihi, who joined the Craven Park club in January 2003, is nearing the end of his contract and was offered reduced terms to continue in the role.
Rovers recently parted company with former Great Britain coach Mal Reilly.
Meanwhile, Rovers officials and their counterparts from Doncaster have met with the Rugby Football League in a bid to diffuse the tension between the two clubs.
The RFL are still investigating reported disturbances involving personnel from the two clubs and supporters when the sides met at Craven Park in July.
