Bulldogs in assault claim
Six members of the Australian National League side Canterbury Bulldogs are the subject of assault allegations, following an incident at the weekend.

Australian police confirmed a complaint had been made by a 21-year-old woman, and appealed for witnesses.

Bulldogs chief Steve Mortimer wants a review of the club's code of conduct.

Their players have had past problems. In 1991 Julian O'Neill trashed a hotel room and John Hopoate was banned for 12 weeks in 2001 for violating opponents.

Mortimer added in a statement: "The Bulldogs are fully cooperating with the police.

"I appeal to the public to keep an open mind on this matter and ask them not to prejudge the outcome of the investigation."
