Featherstone Rovers have appointed former player Gary Price as their new coach. The National League One club turned to the former second rower after former Wakefield scrum-half Brad Davis turned down the offer to become player-coach in favour of a move to French club Villeneuve.
Featherstone chairman Glyn Robinson said: "As a player, Gary was a very intelligent and versatile individual and he has carried that through into his coaching.
"He impressed us with his technical knowledge and breadth of experience in the game. His desire to win and enthusiasm for the game is infectious."
The 33-year-old Price, who replaces Andy Kelly, was a member of the Featherstone team beaten by Wakefield in the 1998 First Division Grand Final.
