New Zealand have got a new coach - and he's an Aussie.
That may upset a few people but nationality isn't a factor in my book.
We need the right man for the job, no matter where they come from, and no-one can accuse Daniel Anderson of being second rate.
He has done a fantastic job with the New Zealand Warriors, taking them to the NRL Grand Final last season.
The least we can do is give Daniel a chance - and he could be just what we need |
He's also out of the Brian Smith stable, like Brian Noble and Matthew Elliott, and that carries a lot of weight with me.
The least we can do is give Daniel a chance, and he could be just what we need.
New Zealand players have always had a reputation for being flashy, with bags of flair and skill, but they have sometimes lacked the necessary discipline.
Having seen what Daniel has achieved with the Warriors, he could be the man to bring it all together.
I just hope I get the chance to play under him.

I'd like to think that my international career isn't over and I'd love to see what else I can do.
I enjoyed playing under Gary Freeman - he became a friend - but it's the dawn of a new era and I want to be part of it.
I love playing for my country, love pulling on the black and white jumper.
It gets tougher every year to win selection with all the good young players that are coming through.
But being an international player is not just about being talented.
And I'd like to think I've still got a lot to offer, not just on the field but off it as well.
