The State of Origin series is just around the corner and the atmosphere is already starting to hot up.

I wouldn't say the world stops but the games are massively important here in Australia.

There is always controversy in the run-up to the games, usually over selection, and this year promises to be no different.

Someone always gets left out who most people think should have been picked.

Talking of selection policy, New South Wales always seem to have an embarrassment of riches and will enter the series as favourites, especially with two games at home.

But Queensland should not be written off. When pride is at stake, anything can happen, as last year proved.

I went to all three games and the atmosphere was great. The passion on the people's faces is there for everyone to see.

I'm planning to go to the games in Sydney and I'm really looking forward to them.

People say these games are harder than the Test matches. They say it is tougher than playing for Australia.
