Final score: Bradford Bulls 41-26 Newcastle Knights Latest news first. 2027: Dannny Buderus scores after collecting John's kick, but although Johns adds the conversion Newcastle are well beaten. 2128: Deacon continues his near-flawless kicking display with another penalty to put the Bulls further out of sight. 2126: Deacon pops over a drop goal to keep the Bulls ticking over and make sure the Knights need four scores to take the lead. 2118: Josh Perry is held just short of the line but Johns is on hand to dive over for the score. Johns adds the conversion to narrow the deficit. 2111: Withers races onto a little kick behind the Newcastle defence and just wins the race to touch down ahead of a team-mate. Deacon kicks the extras. 2104: Lesley Vainokolo races over wide out on his official Bulls debut as Bradford start to stretch away. Deacon misses the conversion to fail with his first kick of the night. 2101: Deacon kicks a penalty to extend the Bulls' lead. 2058: Andrew Johns gets the second half underway with a long kick into the Bulls' half. Paul will not return to the match because of a neck injury. Half-time: Both sides have been struggling with the conditions but Bradford have adapted better and managed to keep hold of the ball more than their southern hemisphere opponents. Their kicking game has also been better than the Knights', and they take a deserved 26-14 lead in at the break. 2040: An injured Paul makes his way off very gingerly following a knock to the head. Leon Pryce comes on in his place. 2036: Paul continues his purple patch by forcing his way over for the Bulls. Deacon slots his fifth kick to take the Bulls lead out to 12 points. 2032: Robbie Paul makes a delightful half-break and Michael Withers arrives on his shoulder to take the scoring pass and go over for the Bulls. Deacon maintains his 100% record by kicking the conversion. 2027: Matt Gidley crosses to put the Knights back in the hunt and Johns slots the conversion to level the scores. 2021: Daniel Gartner goes over from Paul's popped pass after Bradford take the ball up the short side. Deacon slots the conversion. 2018: Andrew Johns forces his way over from a couple of yards for the Knights' second try, but misses the conversion. 2012: Paul Deacon slots a penalty from inside the 22 to the left of the posts to extend the Bulls' lead. 2005: Newcastle hit back immediately as they spin the ball from a scrum and Joshua Smith crashes over in the corner. The Knights miss the conversion. 2003: Bradford take the lead a minute in, on their first set of six, as Robbie Paul spins over after collecting a kick. The conversion goes over to maximise the score. 2002: Paul Deacon kicks off and Newcastle immediately spill the ball to give Bradford the put-in at a scrum.
