The trio will be inducted in a special ceremony at half-time in Saturday's World Cup final at Old Trafford. They were chosen from a nominated list of 30 all-time greats to join the existing 10 members of the Hall of Fame. Karalius, a World Cup winner in 1960, was also a Challenge Cup winner with both St Helens and Widnes. The forward made 384 appearances for the two sides from 1952-66 and collected 12 Great Britain caps. Prolific Van Vollenhoven, who has flown from South Africa to collect his award, was one of the most prolific scorers in the game, with 392 tries in 409 matches for St Helens from 1957-68. Millward made more than 400 appearances for Hull KR, made six tours to Australia and captained Great Britain 10 times. He amassed a total of 2,283 points in a career that spanned 16 years before he retired in 1980. Players must have been retired five years before they can be considered for the Hall of Fame and organisers plan to induct two new members every two years, starting in 2002. | Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Other top Rugby League stories: Links to top Rugby League stories are at the foot of the page. | ||
