| |  Saturday, 7 October, 2000, 23:04 GMT 00:04 UK Kevin Keegan - in pictures  Kevin Keegan, (second from left, second row) starts his career as an apprentice at Scunthorpe United in 1969.  The big time beckoned and Keegan joined Liverpool in 1971.  Keegan's successful Liverpool career ended when he joined SV hamburg in 1977.  Club success translated to the International stage. Keegan collected 63 England caps, scoring 21 goals.  Back in England, this time with Southampton, 1980.  Keegan's spell down south was followed by a trip north. Newcastle United secured his signature in 1982.  After attaining hero staus as a player at St James Park, Keegan (left) returned as manager in 1992. He resigned in 1997.  After taking over at Fulham in 1998, Keegan guided them to promotion from Division 2 in 1999.  The dream turns sour. Keegan resigns as England manager in 2000 after a 1-0 defeat by Germany. | |
