Rudman already has one eye on gold at the 2010 Games

The 24-year-old picked up a surprise silver in Turin and will return home as Britain's sole medallist on Monday.

She said: "I have to set my goals for next year and really aim for the World Championships and the World Cup circuit and then hopefully gold in Vancouver.

"If I get into the top five more consistently in the event I think I will really prove myself."

Rudman picked up Great Britain's only medal of the Games after a blistering second run.

As a result, she has been swamped by media attention, which is expected to continue when she returns home.

However, she warned: "I am not a big star and I have got to keep my feet on the ground - I expect there will be a little bit of hype when I get home because I am the only medal winner.

"But with regard to that I am not Kelly Holmes - I have not brought home two gold medals from the summer Games - so I think I have got to be a little bit realistic there."

World-class performance funding is set to ease Rudman's cause but she said she may yet maintain her part-time role as a classroom assistant.

She added: "I am not sure about that because I really enjoy working with children and helping them to accomplish things in their career."
