Swiss snowboarder Philipp Schoch edged out older brother Simon to retain the gold medal in the men's parallel giant slalom on Wednesday. Philipp gained the advantage over 27-year-old World Cup leader Simon on the opening blue course.
And Philipp, 26, kept his composure on the second run to claim Switzerland's third gold of the Turin Games.
Austria's Siegfried Grabner took bronze after France's Mathieu Bozzetto fell in a play-off for third and fourth places.
Philipp, who became the first snowboarder to retain an Olympic title, said: "It's an unbelievable feeling.
"It is just pure joy. I was very calm at the start of the day and from race to race the feeling just got better."
Brother Simon said: "It's just crazy. I was just hoping we both got into the final.
"But the better man has won today and that was certainly Philipp."
