Murdoch's team are chasing six wins in the round-robin

David Murdoch's team had fallen to a 9-5 defeat against Canada, but showed admirable resolve to see off Norway.

The close match turned on Norway skipper Paal Trulsen's mistake in the ninth end when his badly understrength stone let Britain take a two-shot lead.

And Britain held off Norway's efforts in the last for their third win.

Every team will have nine round-robin games, with the best four moving forward to the knock-out stages and Britain's latest win puts them firmly in contention.

Britain are in joint first place in the overall standings, with an identical record (of wins and losses) to Sweden and Canada.

The earlier defeat to Canada was Britain's first of the Games.

Murdoch's team rallied with a double in the eighth end, but conceded after Canada picked up two more shots to lead by four with one end to go.

Britain never really recovered from a miss on the fourth end, which gifted three points to the Canadians.

"We got off to a bad start and didn't get the rocks in the right positions and if you don't bring your A-game to the table these guys will take advantage," said Murdoch.

"It has let us know that we need to change gear and move up.

"We're not hitting the right game right now, but I am confident it is not too far away.

"We've really just got to ditch that game and move on.

"We knew one win out of two would be a good result today, so we've got to raise our game and come back firing."
