Kildow crashed near the bottom of the Olympic Fraiteve course

Canada's Forsyth tore a knee ligament and is definitely out of the event, while America's Kildow suffered minor head and back injuries.

Reigning champion Montillet-Carles, of France, injured her ribs and back after hitting netting.

A decision on her fitness will be taken two hours ahead of Wednesday's race.

"The final decision will be taken on Wednesday at 10am after the free skiing," said French head coach Lionel Finances.

"She is on the start list and the decision will be taken by myself, the team doctor Marie-Philippe Rousseaux-Blanchi and Carole," he added.

Montillet-Carles lost control while landing a jump midway through the course and was taken down the mountain on a stretcher.

The 32-year-old has had a poor season in the World Cup and was 24th after the first training run.

Kildow was released from hospital on Tuesday and is expected to compete.

"The X-rays are normal," said US Olympic Committee medical director Ed Ryan. "She is complaining of back pain, but that's normal. We will evaluate further and monitor her condition."

The 21-year-old won two downhills on the World Cup circuit this year and was ranked second after the first training run on Sunday.

Forsyth - a giant slalom specialist who won a world championship bronze medal in 2003 - left hospital wearing a knee brace after scans revealed she had torn a ligament.

Canadian officials later confirmed that she would be returning home for surgery.
