Spain's Maria Jose Rienda Contreras claimed her first victory of the season by winning the women's World Cup giant slalom in Aspen on Saturday. The 30-year-old dominated both runs to set a combined time of one minute 57.17 seconds and beat overall World Cup champion Anja Paerson by 0.34 seconds.
Austria's Kathrin Zettel was third in a combined time of 1:57.53, with Croatia's Janica Kostelic in fourth.
Rienda finished second in the overall giant slalom standings last year.
